Shade and Lanre have been dating for over a year now; they met at a mutual friend’s wedding and since then, they have been inseparable. They both enjoy going for Owambes; it is one of the ways they love to unwind after the week’s hustle and bustle. Apart from the food and music at these owambe parties, the highlight for them is watching wedding guests come in with different types of drama.
This Saturday, another Owambe is coming up, Lanre’s friend’s wedding all the way in Abeokuta. Of course, they were excited, but little did they know that this party would bring a whole new experience for them. The lovebirds left Lagos on Friday evening and lodged in a hotel in order to be well rested before the wedding. The next morning at about 8 am, Lanre worked on packing all their stuff together while Shade showered. About 15 minutes later, Lanre started to get impatient, “Babe, please come out of the bathroom now; we are going to be late for the party and I need to have my bath too”
“This hotel sucks, nothing is working, No hot water!” Shade replied
“The more reason why you should spend less time in there,” Lanre snapped
Finally, Shade came out, but she was not ready to go for the wedding just yet. She needed some good loving from her man
“Smarty pants, well I am here,” she said while standing dripping naked in front of the bathroom door
“Babe, don’t do like this na….,” Lanre mumbled while pulling her closer
“You know a quickie will add some glow to my face and I won’t have to spend so much time on my make up,” Shade purred
“Your campaign is too much”, said Lanre (kisses her neck)
1 HOUR LATER
Lanre and Shade are looking sharp and stunning; Lanre is driving while Shade ransacks her bag in search of her Levofem daily contraceptive pill.
“Sugar, did you see my daily pill?” Shade asked
“No,” Lanre said sharply
(Ransacking her handbag)
“Babe, are you sure?” She hissed
Lanre glared at her, “Are we using it together?”
She glares at him
“Oya, calm down” Lanre says, “When was the last time you saw it?”
Shade was now confused and equally angry, “I don’t know Jare…”
“I know I missed a pill yesterday, but I planned to take two this morning to make up for the missed pill. Are you sure you didn’t see it when you were packing our bag?”
“Please let me concentrate on finding the address now,” Lanre retorted. “We are going to miss all the fun at the party because of you….”
Furious Shade responded,
“Lanre because of me abi?, hope you know it takes two to tango, if I don’t use my pills today, just get ready to start shopping for pampers and baby food”
“Is it that serious, baby food?” “Ehmm… what do we do now?” Lanre asked
“I don’t know, I really do not….
Wait Lanre! Are you sure we are not lost?”

“Please Shade concentrate on finding a solution to this contraceptive problem while I find the party location,” Lanre retorted
As Shade browsed the web in search of a solution, an ambulance drove past them with a blaring siren and she screamed Yes! I got, it’s an emergency!
“Shade don’t go crazy on me, which one is emergency? We are talking about your lost pills… we are going to fix this,” Lanre pleaded
“You don’t get it, I found the solution, an emergency pill, POSTPILL!” Shade said excitedly
“What I need now is a pharmacy to get one,” Shade sighed
“What is POSTPILL? Where are we supposed to find a pharmacy around here now? ehn, we are late,” Lanre snapped
“Lanre, Lanre ooo, I have found a solution to our problem, your own is to find the pharmacy,” Shade retorted
About 20 minutes later, they found a nearby pharmacy. Shade got 1 pack of POSTPILL, which contained only one tablet and she grabbed a bottle of water and hopped back into the car. She heaved a sigh of relief after taking the emergency pill.
It took Shade and Lanre an extra 30 minutes to locate the Church, but they were told that the bride and groom had left for the reception hall. Eventually, after series of argument on whose fault it was with Lanre asserting that lateness was Shade’s middle name, they got to the venue.
Though they didn’t get a perfect seat because they were late to the wedding, Shade sat down with a calm smile not minding either their sitting position or her face-beat, which was now a face-drop. As Shade watched a pregnant woman make a toast to the couple, she thought to herself, “Thanks to my quick thinking, I was able to make up for missing my daily pills; now I have the assurance that I won’t be like this woman in 9 months.”
