WHAT IS LYDIA IUD?

A Lydia IUD is a non-hormonal  small plastic and  copper device that is inserted  into the womb to prevent pregnancy .
There are different  types of Lydia IUD. Lydia copper T and  Lydia Sleek  can prevent pregnancy for up to 10 years while Lydia copper Y and Lydia Safeload can prevent pregnancy for up to 5 years.

HOW DO I USE IT?

You can insert a Lydia IUD at any time during your menstrual cycle provided you have confirmed that you are not pregnant (through a pregnancy test), but preferably you should insert it during or immediately after your period.

Some women may experience side effects while others will not. These side effects normally decrease during the first 3-6 months of insertion. Common side effects to expect include mild to moderate lower abdominal pain during the first few days after insertion, heavier bleeding and/or longer periods, painful menses

 

WHAT TO EXPECT AFTER INSERTION OF LYDIA IUD


You may experience some light bleeding and slight cramping for 1 or 2 days following the IUD insertion.
Do not have sex, use tampons or put anything in your vagina for at least 24hours after you have had a LYDIA IUD inserted.
